Kathy Griffith, Buffalo Weaver Print E-mail

Image
Kathy Griffith has been weaving for 35 years.  No formal education in fiber arts but a passion and determination to continue learning by trial and error.  Challenged by all different types of weave structures and yarn textures she's tried Navajo weaving, triangular looms, conventional floor and table looms, untraditional found objects, knitting and crochet.  To be able to work with buffalo fiber is an opportunity I could not pass up as the bison is my spirit totem.  I feel very connected to it.
Her work can be seen at her studio at LLamas and LLambs Boutique in the historic Plymale
Cottage 180 No. Oregon St. Jacksonville, OR 97530
(541)899-9141 or at a current fiber exhibition "Here and Now" at the Grants Pass
Museum of Art that runs until Nov. 24.

While I have never had the opportunity to meet Ms. Griffith in person, when I receive a phone call, or even better a package with a new woven bison fiber design, I know that it is going to be a good day.  Kathy is a recent addition to the growing host of Buffalo Gold featured designers, and has already established herself as a outstanding and innovative weaver, and is helping us to develop better bison fiber products for weavers everywhere.
